2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule
The green flag is up for another season of pure entertainment as the 40-week Sprint Cup Series, the top racing series or the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), began last February 18, 2012. This is in accordance to the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule which was released last year.
The 2012 Sprint Cup Series began last February 18, 2012 at Daytona International Speedway and it will culminate on November 18, 2012 at Homestead Miami Speedway. Besides some changes in radio communication, crew chiefs, drivers, paint schemes, etc., there are also alterations made with the race schedules.
This year’s Sprint Cup schedule is the same to last year’s schedule except for some few minor but still significant changes. Last year, Brian France, the Chairman and CEO of NASCAR, announced this year’s schedule which according to him has a few adjustments that they (NASCAR) think will be good for the fans and good for the overall flow of the season.

- The Daytona 500 was moved to February 26, 2012, a week later than last year’s February 20.
- The race at Kansas Speedway was moved from June 5 to April 22.
- The first race at Dover was moved from May 15 to June.
- The race at Talladega Superspeedway was moved from April 17 to May 6. Talladega’s October race was also moved about over two weeks earlier, from October 23 to October 7.
- The race at Kentucky Speedway was moved from July 9 to July 30.
- The race at Phoenix International Raceway was moved a week later, from February 27 to March 4
- The race dates for Las Vegas Motor Speedway was moved also week later, from March 6 to and March 11.
